About Jerry

Jerry Kofsky is a graduate of Seneca College of Applied Arts & Technology. Possessing various industry IICRC designations, WRT, ASD, CDS; BEM with George Brown College; Health & Safety Ontario certification, held a position as District Manager in 1998 with a global corporate emergency services provider for over ten years until joining FirstOnSite Restoration L.P. in September 2008. Actively participating in numerous disasters within Canada and the United States has enabled Jerry the opportunity to gain valuable experience, insight and hands on experience and valuable knowledge within the disaster recovery arena. Jerry provides educational sessions to various industry organizations; insurance professional’s participation qualifies attendees for continuing educational credits. A member and supporter of various industry associations such as: OIAA-Ontario Insurance Association, DRIE-Disaster Recovery Exchange, BOMA-Building Owners and Managers Association and ARMA-Association of Records Managers.

  • Recovered media, understanding what the Client’s expectations should be.
  • Risks and exposures when handling water damaged materials (health and safety concerns).
  • Insurance, do you have the correct or enough coverage?
  • Privacy and Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
  • The importance of communication, “documentation beats conversation."
  • Mould, found on your documents or files, what can we do to avoid an environmental health risk in the work place?
  • Emergency preparedness; executing your emergency and business continuity plans; why many plans are set up for failure?
  • Minimizing the cost of recovery, what action steps can we take towards emergency preparedness?
  • Contractor Emergency Response Program, have you developed a relationship with a qualified contractor?
